1 Bligh Street

1 Bligh Street is located in the heart of Sydney CBD’s ‘Core’ business and financial services precinct.  The 43,419 square metre (NLA), 5.5 Star NABERS Energy rated tower provides spectacular views of Sydney Harbour and the bridge to the North. Positioned on the corner of Bligh, Bent and O’Connell Streets, the building is a focal landmark and premium investment.  

Designed by Ingenhoven Architekten of Germany and Architectus of Australia, the 29 storey tower is iconic on the Sydney skyline, combining striking and functional architecture with best practice sustainability. The double skin façade with external louvers, utilized for the first time in Australia, significantly reduces the heat load on the façade and thereby reduces the cooling and energy requirements internally. A naturally ventilated, full height atrium provides vertical connectivity from the lobby level with each office level and maximises natural light to the 1,600 square metre office floor plates. Tri-generation, blackwater [including mining] and mixed mode [chilled beam and VAV] air conditioning systems contribute to 1 Bligh’s unrivalled sustainable features. 

The buildings ground floor lobby opens to the exterior [weather permitting] and has been designed to become the ‘ant track’ connecting Bligh and O’Connell Streets. A childcare centre, two cafes and parking for 96 cars provides complete amenity for building occupiers and visitors. The building was completed in 2011.
